Head Veterinary Nurse
Amy Joined Oaklands in January 2023 as Head Nurse and qualified as an RVN in 2013 at Askham Bryan College York. Since qualifying she has gained her Clinical Coaching status and has successfully trained Student Veterinary Nurses throughout her career. She was nominated by her peers and went on to win “Vet Honours - Vet Nurse of the year 2021-2022” through her efforts in the profession during the Covid 19 Pandemic.
Out of work she loves adventuring with her Partner Glenn and Staffordshire Bull Terrier Zico. She loves her cats, Poppy and Sonny Jim and spending time with her family and friends. In her free time Amy loves to travel the world and was lucky enough to gain a place in May 2022 with The Olive Ridley Project.

Sophie Hodder RVN
Sophie joined Oaklands in October 2013 as a student from Myerscough College, becoming part of the permanent team in January 2014. After qualifying, Sophie’s particular interest is consulting and after completing further qualification enjoys running nursing clinics for weight management in pets.
In her free time Sophie enjoys spending time with her two horses, Beckham and Lena, walking her two dogs, Ruby and Betty and enjoying the latest box sets and TV shows.

Nicola Chadfield
Nursing Assistant
Nicola joined the practice in 1989 and has gained extensive, valuable nursing experience in both small and large animal departments, although is currently part of the small animal team.
Outside of work, Nic’s son, Aaron, keeps her busy. She also enjoys horse riding, walking, reading and walking her dog, Lulu.

Emily Forsyth
Student Veterinary Nurse
Emily joined the team in 2020, she is currently studying towards her veterinary nursing qualification. Emily enjoys all aspects of nursing especially surgical procedures and inpatient care.
Outside of work, Emily is kept busy with her horsey lifestyle, she often travels to Spain and loves exploring the countryside with her crazy cocker spaniels; Indy, Moose and Chief, and German Pointer, Nico.
