
Sophie Hodder RVN
Sophie joined Oaklands in October 2013 as a student from Myerscough College, becoming part of the permanent team in January 2014. After qualifying, Sophie’s particular interest is in-patient care and after completing further qualifications, is establishing nursing clinics for weight management in pets and diabetic patients. Sophie spends her free time riding her horses, Beckham and Lena, walking her four dogs, or getting her regular fix of retail therapy.

Ruth Watson BSc (Hons) RVN
Ruth graduated from Harper Adams University in Shropshire as a RVN in September 2017. She previously spent time on work experience and a placement year at Oaklands and permanently joined the team in June 2018, following a year completing an additional qualification; BSc veterinary nursing and practice management (top-up) degree. Ruth enjoys all aspects of small animal nursing, but has a particular interest in medical nursing and surgery. When not at work, Ruth enjoys happily hacking her horse, Bambi and spending time with family and friends.

Nicola Chadfield
Nursing Assistant
Nicola joined the practice in 1989 and has gained extensive, valuable nursing experience in both small and large animal departments, although is currently part of the small animal team. Outside of work, Nic’s son, Aaron, keeps her busy. She also enjoys horse riding, walking, reading and walking her dog, Lulu.
